BBC bosses were last night forced to apologise after Jenson Button swore live on air during their F1 broadcast of the Abu Dhabi GP. Following his podium finish at the Yas Marina circuit, Button was having a casual chat with fellow podium finisher Mark Webber when the BBC's cameras cut to them. And, unfortunately, that was the moment when Button said the f-word. "It was a live broadcast which showed a conversation between two individuals and in the heat of the moment Jenson Button swore, and it was unfortunately picked up on air," a BBC spokesman said. "We apologise for any offence caused and we apologised immediately on air after it happened. It is part and parcel of live broadcasts."
