Toro Rosso fail to quash Bourdais rumoursSaturday 11th July 2009Toro Rosso team boss Franz Tost failed to quash rumours about Seb Bourdais's pending axing after refusing to deny the reports.
Reports in the French media ahead of this weekend's German GP claim that the Nurburging race will be Bourdais last with Toro Rosso as the team are unhappy with his performances this season.
Although Bourdais insists these are nothing but rumours, his team boss hasn't exactly helped his cause.
Asked about the speculation, Tost told Autosport: "We do not comment on rumours that are started in the media."
And that is not exactly a denial.
Meanwhile, World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb has said he'd be interested in taking Bourdais's race-seat should his fellow Frenchman get the axe.
"Who knows, as long as the Formula 1 and rallying calendars don't overlap anything is possible," Loeb told French newspaper L'Equipe. "If there is a place at Toro Rosso I am available.
"Although I must say a grand prix is not the same as a rally. It is 70 laps and physically I'm not ready. In rallying you do not have the same conditions as an F1 driver."
